I wanted to buy a beach front villa and met up with lots of property agents in Tarragona, some wanted to meet me at garages, but I was having none of that after a property deal went sour on me in Malaga meeting up at a local landmark and not the agents office. The second to last agency that I visited was LandBank in Spain. They showed me a selection of villas and I have bought the most stunning property at a very realistic price, with a mortgage included - all organised by LandBank. Went to Cambrils, Spain, looking at country properties in the Tarragona region, but was not entirely happy with that area, looking for green fields and bubbling brooks but found olives and deserts in the countryside, OK for some but not for me. I was referred by the Cambrils office of LandBank to the Pyrenees office and there I met with a couple who I can honestly say are the most professional property agents I have had the pleasure to deal with. They spent an entire weekend with me and put up with my moaning and open opinions on the properties and finally they proposed a property to me, after listening to my wants and do not want. This property turned out to be ideal, I wanted to pay an immediate deposit as I was so certain this was for me, David and Nancy told me to calm down, think about it and if the next day I was still so certain then the formalities could be started then. The property looked even better the next day and all the formalities were dealt with smoothly and totally stress free for me. An English speaking lawyer was recommended and all that remained was to move in, LandBank even organised the removal company for me from the USA to my new home. What a great performance.

When I went to Tarragona to look for property I went to several agencies in the area, my final call was with LandBank International. I was set upon a property in the Tarragona area but in talking with local people I found out about a nuclear power station in Almadrava, L'Ametlla de Mar, I mentioned this to David at LandBank when I met with him for my visits to property and he said I was mistaken as there was not just one but TWO in the locality and also the local government were investigating the feasibility of huge wind farms in the area. Tarragona was to be the power centre of Spain. No other agent had been so openly honest about this. So with the help of landbank I moved my search further north and I have now found the exact farmhouse with land that I wanted. The Notary signing was a breeze with an English speaking lawyer and an English speaking architect appointed for my project. We recommend the team at landbank highly, not just because they are the most professional team we have come across but because of the way they smoothed out our initial problems with a bogus agent in the Tarragona area, helping us make a statement to the Guardia Civil and recovering a deposit we had paid to a conman agent. The team from LandBank helped us find (finally) exactly what we wanted and at great price. They dealt with all the legal matters and helped us with our bank accounts etc. They got an English speaking lawyer for us and we had the whole deed translated into English so we knew what we were signing at the Notary office. I first visited Catalunya in April 2007 when I visited my best friend who had bought property out there from Landbank, I immediately fell in love with the area!  Despite the terrible rain in April the area was picturesque, the people friendly and the way of life something to aspire to, I couldn't stop thinking about a dream home in the mountains.  My partner and I came back out a few months later, the weather was fantastic then and he too experienced the spirit of the area.  Our four year old daughter also loves it away from the commercialism of the UK, simply spending her time on nature trails and at the beach, she couldn't be happier!  With the expert help of David and Nansi Mottram of Landbank we discovered a truly beautiful plot of land with permission to restore a ruin in picturesque mountains.  David and Nansi patiently supported the whole process of buying and beyond, elaying any fears and making the process simple, they can be truly recommended as a company to trust.  They have huge expertise and a team of bilingual staff who can answer and resolve any query.  The whole process was a breeze and we now look forward to starting our build which we will certainly involve Landbank in.

Buying a new home is very stressful at the best of times, but is made much worse when you dont speak the language. A friend recommended we try using a company called Landbank International. Not only did the team at Landbank International help us find our future home but came with us to the notary and suported us every step of the way.
For us what made LandBank International even more exceptional was the continued support after we purchased the property. They helped us put the utility bills into our names, helped with registration, organised the internet and many other inportant things we needed to sort out.

Moving to Catalonia one year ago was the best decision I have ever made. Now I’m happy to call this area my home.  Catalonia forms the North Eastern coast of Spain stretching from the Pyrenean mountain range in the North down to the Ebro Delta in the south with vibrant Barcelona as its capital city and hundreds of miles of Mediterranean coastline.
Living in sunny Spain had always been a dream of mine and this corner of Catalonia ticked all the boxes on my wish list: high mountain peaks and lush river valleys offering ample hiking and fishing opportunities; medieval castles and cobbled streets to explore; Barcelona’s architecture and retail therapy just a train ride away; the award winning Priorat wine region and all the ‘open’ cellars offering samples amid surroundings to rival Tuscany. And of course, the Mediterranean beaches and long hot summers. Just twelve kilometres from my farmhouse you’ll find my favourite sandy cove. There my new friends serve local wine, oysters and paella at a table in the sun while we marvel at how lucky we are to be living here in this unspoilt region.
While I’m at home on the finca I enjoy my own almonds, walnuts, grapes, figs, olive oil and vegetables. My Catalonian friends catch wild boar, rabbits and partridge in the surrounding hills. I haven’t sampled these delights yet, being vegetarian, but I hear that this free range organic meat is better than anything you’d buy in the supermarket.
When I first moved here one question that I was constantly asked was what’s it like to move to an area when you don’t know anyone? Within three days of moving in to my farmhouse many of the villagers had visited with gifts of local produce. The most unusual visitor was an angry ginger Tom cat in a Hessian sack, brought by Jose a local olive farmer who thought no farm should be without one.
    With only rudimentary Spanish I manage to converse with my very patient neighbours, we have fun teaching each other and we’re getting better every day.
Every reason that I found in the past to defer a move to Spain seems irrelevant now.  Every aspect of the move and integration into the community has gone smoothly. In fact my mother, sister, and two good friends have all fallen in love with this beautiful region and have purchased properties with LandBank International too. I’m happy to have them as neighbours and now we share those bottles of wine and oysters together at the sandy cove just down the road.

Buying the land in spain was ridiculously easy! was so very worried about being ripped off as all my friends and family thought I was a fool to buy somewhere I´d never been over the internet.David Nancy and Liela were lovely! We finally decided to move to Spain to realise a life long dream – to live in a stone farmhouse in the sun, with land to call our own. To convert this dream into reality were David and Nansi Mottram of LandBank International. Being interested in buying property or land in Catalunya, we noticed the Landbank International site on the internet, mostly in reference to the Log Homes that were being advertised. We saw, on the internet site,  many examples of homes we would love to live in, so we contacted David by clicking on the "Have you call us back" area on the website. So simple, and David phoned us immediately. He gave us heaps of information, which was very useful and helped to reassure us that there really weren't the problems that you can often read about in publications. We arranged a visit and were shown around several sites, suitable for our requirements. Nothing was too much trouble, from arranging a hotel, booking tables for dinner as well as the extremely professional and stress free business side of things. We were so impressed with what we saw, that we bought not one but two pieces of land, and have been so satisfied with their service, we are in the process of purchasing yet another finca.. Everything was made so simple for us, and all the legalities ran extremely smoothly with no hitches. We know that not only do we have a professional business relationship with David, Nansi and their family, but we believe that we have the basis of a lifelong friendship. It was unbelievable when all we saw was a piece of land with beautiful views and nothing but a forest, we had always dreamed of owning and living in a log home, from our childhood days when Davey Crockett and the Wild West featured log cabins, forests, rugged countryside and bubbling rivers.
The price of the land was 35,000 euros, the log home delivered and constructed by Eagle Rock was 240,000 euros.

Seven artisans arrived on site to construct our new log home. We couldnt believe it when pieces of wood were being scribed and notched, some men were using hand tools and some men were using electronic routers and planers - all run off a generator.
A caravan arrived for the men, and yes, true to their word - three weeks later our log home was errected to include the roof.
The construction was all in dovetail joints and the timbers were so smooth, it was unbelievable.
Four weeks on, we had moved into the home of our dreams. The dining room, lounge with a superb floor to ceiling stone fireplace. Bathroom with fantastic tile finishing and the roof detail which is incredible.The house has beautiful dormer windows and a lovely constructed external stone chimney.
We are so pleased with our Eagle Rock log home, that we have ordered an Eagle Rock log cabin which is The Cherokee model and will have it constructed on another site to let out in Tivissa".
The price of the cabin is 20,000 euros.
